Code Rescue 0.13.1 – Every letter counts
A coding game is full of abbreviations: W A S D to walk, PHP, C#, the E key to talk, F5 for a test run. That is exactly where the voice output stumbled. The speech model read runs of capital letters as a single word and swallowed single letters – "W A S D" came out as something like "Basti", "C#" as a "10".
Each of the 22 voiced languages now has its own pronunciation table: letters are spelled out with their names in that language, and code symbols such as === or & are put into words. Where a letter is also a word – in Italian, "E" also means "and" – the rule only applies in the right context.
We did not check this by ear alone: speech recognition listened to all of the roughly 2,800 affected lines and compared them with the text. Whatever still sounded wrong was fixed in a second pass, and a few lines where the voice stumbled have been re-recorded.
